Sieges are also apparently changed, but we haven't seen how as yet. Minor settlement battles are a thing again, so I'm really hoping for more varied maps with more actually different terrain like Troy instead of just changing the topography and where the functionally identical forests are placed. There's a new campaign which usually entails new campaign mechanics like how game 2 introduced rites for the game 2 factions. There's apparently also other changes to Magic, including actually explaining the spells functions in detail instead of vague tooltips for the damage spells. There's confirmed changes to how winds of magic are generated throughout the battle, being a flat rate instead of slowing down the more spells you cast.
